Pipi Longstocking

The other day, Norah asked me to put "Pipi Longstocking Braids" into her hair. O was only too happy to oblige. We were both pretty happy with the result.

Trendsetter

Any princess...

can wear a crown.

But not just any princess...

can start an upside down crown fashion trend.

Pigtails and Attention

A couple of weeks ago, I decided that Penny had enough hair for pigtails. Not the kind that stick straight off the top of her head, but actual, real pigtails. I managed to get her to sit still for just long enough that I got them in.

Once they were in, I just had to take some pictures.

I took pictures from the side.

I took pictures from the front.

Apparently, Norah thought I took a few too many pictures of Penny by herself. She had pigtails too, after all.

Redneck Hot Tub - Penny's Tub Time

Penny had at least as much fun with the redneck hot tub as her sister did. 

Of course, she followed Norah's lead and played with sticks,

...and stirred with sticks,

...and then, just for good measure, she tasted the sticks.

The most fun she had by far was when she discovered that she
could use the cups to scoop water out of the tub and fling it.

At first, this made her smile.

but the more she did it...

...the more excited she got!

Redneck Hot Tub - Norah's Tub Time

I told you I had more pictures where those came from! So many, in fact, that I've decided to split them into pictures of Norah and pictures of Penny. Of course, Norah had fun playing with her toys in the tub, but she also found some pretty creative uses for her tub of water. She also used the sticks she'd been collecting from our walks around the neighborhood in some very creative ways.

She went fishing in her tub.

She tried to teach Penny to fish, but little sister just kept pulling
the cups out of the water instead.

She played a very entertaining game of "guess what animal I am".
Here she's an elk. 

She also gave herself a pedicure.

It was a pretty successful day for Norah's imagination. It's amazing what a three-year-old can do with a simple popcorn bowl full of water and some sticks.

Redneck Hot Tub

We may live in the mountains, but we can do redneck with the best of 'em! I wanted a fun activity to help take up the morning. After over two hours, I basically had to beg them to come in for lunch.

Things started out pretty normal.

First they were playing with toys in the bowls.

Then Norah started playing... IN the bowls.

Creating a true redneck hot tub.

Needless to say, the girls had tons of fun!

Penny Talk - Adventures with Sister

Hi there all you blog people! I thought it might be time for another picture story from yours truly. Last week, we went into town and had a little fun before we met one of Mommy's friends for lunch. Here's what happened:

I went on the swings, which is my favorite thing to do at the park!
Every time I see them I point and yell, "Wheeee!"

Even though I was happy, Mommy couldn't get me to look at her.
I was too busy watching Sister.

She's a GREAT climber!

After I was done watching Sister climb, she got on the swings with me. I watched her there too. 

Even when she wasn't watching me.

After we were done at the park, we went to get sister's hair cut.
I shook my snack cup.

I even smiled at Mommy's camera once.

But mostly, I just watched Sister.

Dance Party!

We had an impromptu dance party in the living room last week at Norah's request. It's things like this that remind me to cherish every second of the girls' childhood. We won't be their favorite dance partners for long, but we'll enjoy it while we can! 

Wardrobe Choices

This is a little girl who knows what she wants.

She's proud to pick her own outfits.

Complete with spiderweb stretch pants from Halloween,
sparkly shoes, and Princess Aurora socks.

Yup, Stylin' indeed.

Swimming

A couple of weeks ago I met up with my mom and some friends and took the girls swimming. Of course, with all that water (which can be bad for phones) I didn't get many pictures. The ones I did get weren't that stellar since the whole time I was holding my phone all I was thinking about was where I would (gently) throw it if someone started to drown. Still, the girls had LOADS of fun!

Norah took her first ride down the big waterside.
She never let us take her, but she let her favorite teacher, Rachel!

Norah told me that she was afraid to let me take her because I
might not be strong enough to hold her up at the bottom so she
doesn't splash. She DID concede that her daddy is strong enough
and is excited to go with him the next time we're at the pool.
